I want to start off by saying, this topic is not here to offend anyone. But its something that needs to be addressed considering where our society has taken us. I'm not by any means sexist, just want to align the Word of God with everyday living. I have been in the midst of many quarrels on this subject, women getting directly offended by men because men claim women have no importance in the church- or battles over who has the overall authority. I have heard very rude and obnoxious opinions (specifically from the Slavic background) about how men have absolute authority over women (in a very degrading manner). Even when secular movements have arisen claiming to be concerned with women's rights, their efforts have generally been detrimental to the status of women. The feminist movement of our generation, for example, is a case in point. Feminism has devalued and…

I wanted to expand on my last topic a bit. I didn't have time to dive deeper, and wanted to discuss the reasoning behind my observation. As I discussed last time, there are 4 main ways of thinking (There are more than that, but most of them fall into one of these 4 categories). The first ideology that our society has adopted is Universalism. This idea believes that everyone, regardless of his or her belief, will be accepted by God for eternity. This view affirms that all people will ultimately be saved whether it be Muslims, Christians, atheists, or Buddhists… The second Ideology is Pluralism, which restricts salvation to only religious backgrounds- regardless of what this religion may be. This idea states- all religions are equally valid, unlike universalism, Pluralism believes that you actually have to pursue a religion to be saved, and all religions have saved people. The third…

This idea has been circulating my brain for as long as I can remember. Why are there so many different faiths..? Why are there so many different religions? Are there saved people in all religions...will people go to heaven from all types of denominations? Whether it is; Baptists, Pentecostal, Charismatic, Catholic, Mormon, etc....? Well, to fully answer this question we must first discuss the problem that's at hand. I remember a long time ago I was talking to someone, and I asked..? Do you think as a Mormon you will inherit the same kingdom as I will, are we going to go to the same heaven? He answered; "I honestly believe that all religions have saved people...I think in every culture you will run into people that have a good understanding of who God is and they will inherit Gods kingdom.." Is this statement true, could there be many different…

I think many people have to deal with at least a few bad decisions that they have made in their life. Many of these decisions might of not been intentional, but situational. Meaning, at the time it made sense, or they were in a different state of mind (not exactly Christian). So do bad decisions define us as people...? Well, of course not, many mistakes that we made as teenagers we wouldn't make in a million years now that we are grown up. Or lets say as a child you are unaware a bee stings, you will be intrigued by its beauty and simply the lack of knowledge will prevent you from not being stung. How many of you can say that you have never made a mistake...? How many of you can claim to be a saint simply because you haven't murdered, stolen, deceived, cheated, lied, committed adultery, etc... Are…

As I was driving down the road, I couldn't help but notice there were three individuals standing with signs on the corner of Maple rd- downtown Bellingham. I was compelled to pull over and talk to them. As I parked the car and made my way across the street I noticed they were all glaring at me. I could sense this immediate tension build, the closer I approached them. As I walked up, I introduced myself and started to ask them about what they were doing. Instantly they began to talk about Jesus and what his mission on this earth was. I noticed one of the individuals sweater read; "Ask me why you are going to Hell." So I asked. I was told instantly that my answers could not be answered and I should ask the other two. I was confused and asked them one question; "who was hell created…

This topic really grinds my gears..I look around and see what makes the world tick. I see what drives people..what inspires people and I think to myself, what happened to society. We live in a time where people will only call you if they need something, they will never ever waste any of their time helping others, unless there's an incentive. People live for themselves, they drown themselves in useless activities, just to make an excuse that they are busy. Where does this originate from? Why are people so careless, so selfish, so Godless? As I look around, I see this entire society conditioned to think as certain way...I see media feeding everyone how they should perceive the world. I know this perception very well, because I was taught this strategy. One of the Majors I graduated in is marketing. Marketing is a very interesting field. It essentially makes or…

How many times have you heard this? Seems like, no matter where I go, or who I talk to...eventually people will talk about health...exercise....food, etc. I remember growing up, my dad was a serious health fanatic. We would wake up in the morning, he would make sure we had at least a snack, drank some tea (usually some sort of herbal healthy tea or green tea) and all our vitamins. And when I say vitamins I mean a handful of pills! He would give us a garlic pill, Vitamin C pill, Fish oil, and everything else out there in pill form. I remember I would try and sneak out without my dad seeing me...Because man, did I hate swallowing all those pills, some of them were like the size of horse tranquilizer pills. Every time you would swallow them, you would practically choke...oh the good old days. I always use…

We all love love to stay busy....well most of us. I can't stand having too much free time. In this day and age, most of us wouldn't even know what to do with too much free time. Most of us either work, go to school, or raise a family...All of which consumes our entire lives. From the crack of dawn till our heads hits the pillow we are frantically running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I am not saying being busy is a bad thing, in fact staying busy can keep you disciplined and steadfast to life. But there is such a thing as being consumed by this life. We have heard of the consequences of overworking yourself...Things like health problems, insomnia, anxiety, depression, etc...We have to be careful to not overwork ourselves to an early grave. Some people are just born with an overdrive switch...a switch…

I had the opportunity to meet up with a friend this evening and talk about a vast amount of topics... As we sat there and discussed many subjected we started to dig deep into some spiritual theology. We discussed several things, from our personal walk with Christ to what has God done for us in our daily lives. It had been weeks since we last met, so as we had fellowship we realized that many of the things that had been circulating in our minds were similar. For instance, this Saturday I wrote a blog about lukewarm Christians....interestingly enough, he had been thinking about the topic of lukewarm Christianity for weeks. He found it very odd that I had written something that had been on his mind for weeks. But this is how it often works, the Holy Spirit intercedes in our life for specific reasons. Often the Holy Spirit may give you some…

"I have decided, to follow Jesus, no turning back....no turning back. Iv'e been set free, Christ is enough for me...the cross before me the world behind me..." These are some extremely strong words, they hold an authority when applied. How many people can honestly say that they have decided to follow Jesus. It seems like most people are held by some sort of sin, whether it be something small or something big. We live in a culture these days that being a Christian is the new fad. Everyone calls themselves a Christian. Labeling yourself as a Christian is socially acceptable now. This new 21st century approach of Satan's deceit is very slick. There was time that people flat out denied Christs existence. However, for every era Satan has a different approach. The era we live in these days welcomes everything. There is no distinction between truth and lies, Satan has implored…
