Was man created to be alone? We often see priests and monks practicing celibacy and think, how much dedication would it take to be celibate? Does celibacy give man power over his will? Does God call people to be celibate? I heard a very good sermon today. It talked about the difficulties and ups an downs of our spiritual life. I've never really thought about it this way, but many people think that they are the only ones that struggle with as much sin as they do in their life. I got the opportunity to stare temptation square in the eye today.... Many people think that temptation can be so easily avoided. Distractions of life: We live in a world were everyone is fueled by money, looks, popularity, acceptance, etc...We spend a majority of our time worrying about how we look, and what others will think of us. We spend countless hours at the shopping malls picking out outfits for events where we will be judged based on our appearance. Can a believer forfeit salvation? Please share your view, I like when people engage in these topics. Many Christians I have met, don't actually know the depths of the Bible. It shocks me how little the average Christian knows about his own belief system. Atheists actually know more about scripture than Christians do. I recently read a commentary in a Bible and it said these words in reference to a verse. "No matter how much of your deeds are worthless, no believer will forfeit salvation." Just to briefly familiarize people with the text.
